Tragédias Diferentes / Different Tragedies

I’ll start – as a matter of respect – this post in english / Vou iniciar por uma questão de respeito, esta postagem em inglês. Veja em português abaixo do vídeo.

We saw this last days two tragedies happening in one side of the planet. Fortunately for us brazilians – and those who have the luck to live in a coutry with no natural disasters – are away of. But sadly – at least to me – happened first in a country that is very dear to me, where I had the opportunity to visit and meet people and great landspaces.

After this, happened another tragedy in a country with people who have the hability to start over and over. But is sad as well, specialy the huge lost of lives and terrible scenes that chocked us all.

Took me some time to find – by chance – one report from the local Channel 3, resuming the terrible things that happened over a predicted earthquake, anticipated, but unbeareble.

It’s sad and at the same time hopeless to watch those images, and I hope that you see and try to understand the human desperation (not a kiwi desperation, from a small part of the world) and have in your heart the will of helping without any geographic limits.

I hope that you understand Christchurch – that less than a year had other earthquake and was putting all together – and that this images bring to you any resolutions about life, and help you to think how small are we, the “planet owners”, when it comes to the power of nature.

I hope that you understand and help others to understand that are reasons to not build houses on the hills, even if the search for a place to live became harder and harder, instead of building in a safety and far place.

Finaly, I expect that you understand that New Zealand needs more than ever to start over adain, and if you can help somehow – doing a trip there, or boosting the economy through turism, even buying a souvenir from an online kiwi store believe, you will help a lot.

The nature also showed it’s huge destructive potential – maybe reconstructive (depending on the point of view) hitting and devastating Japan. I have seen a lot of people being consciousness about nature fighting back the humans. And this fight back happens in a huge progressive country, showing again how small we are.

The footage of the powerful and unbearable water tides tearing off walls, streets, structures is impressive. And now the hiper-growing technology brought comes as a growth menace to lives as it succumbs to the power of the quackes and the fury of the sea.

The question is, what’s the lesson learned by mankind? Will be a hard time to overcome, and we will insist in our mistakes? Will we exacerbate out frenectic technological search on a noble goal or will we embrace a possibility to revert the development a little bit and focus on basics?

Shure thing, is that in 2011 the world stopped once again it’s frenetic pace (like is in central Tokyo) and faced it’s own weakness over it’s development and the power of the nature.

Remains the same appeal. Help Japan the way you can. Consume more japanese products, honour the japanese culture. And if you can – in a near future – go to Japan and help them rebuilt.

Vimos nos últimos dias duas tragédias acontecendo em um lado do planeta. Felizmente para nós brasileiros – que temos a sorte de viver em um país ausente de tragédias naturais – estamos longe. Mas infelizmente pelo menos para mim, aconteceu primeiramente em um país que amo muito, pois tive a oportunidade de conhecer e reconhecer como um dos mais lindos do mundo. Depois, aconteceu em um país que tem um povo acostumado a se recuperar de desastres. Mas não deixa de ser extremamente triste, principalmente a perda enorme de vidas e as imagens que chocaram a todos, sem exceção.

Demorei um pouco para encontrar – e por acaso – uma reportagem do Canal 3 kiwi, resumindo os terríveis acontecimentos que se passaram durante um terremoto previsto, antecipado porém, imbatível.

É triste e ao mesmo tempo desesperador ver as imagens, e eu espero que você – mesmo não sabendo inglês – veja e tente compreender o desespero humano (não o desespero kiwi, de uma parte do mundo) e tenha no seu coração a vontade de ajudar sem qualquer preocupação geográfica.

Espero que você compreenda Christchurch – que em menos de um ano já havia sofrido com isso e estava se recuperando – e que as imagens dessa reportagem lhe tragam algumas resoluções de vida, e que te ajudem a pensar o quanto pequenos nós “comandantes do planeta” somos perante a natureza.

Espero que você compreenda e ajude outros a compreender que existem motivos para não se construir casas em encostas, por mais difícil que seja encontrar um lugar um pouco mais longe das coisas, mas mais seguro e durável.

Espero finalmente que você compreenda que a Nova Zelândia precisa mais do que nunca se reerguer, e se você pode ajudar de alguma maneira – nem que seja fazendo uma viagem, ativando a economia através do turismo ou mesmo comprando um souvenir de uma loja kiwi pela Internet, acredite que você estará ajudando muito.
Não se engane achando que a Nova Zelândia é um país de primeiríssimo mundo, rico, estável e organizado e que não precisa de nada. Acredite, o país precisa e muito de muita ajuda, e não é por ser tudo isso acima, que deixa de merecer algo. Ajude como puder.

A natureza também mostrou seu enorme potencial destrutivo – ou talvez reconstrutivo (dependendo de um ponto de vista) ao atingir o Japão terrívelmente. Tenho visto muita gente ganhando consciência a respeito do “troco” do planeta ao homem. E o troco acontece também em um país hiper-desenvolvido, mostrando mais uma vez nossa pequenez frente à natureza.

As imagens poderosas das águas foram talvez mais arrebatadoras que das estruturas dobrando como papel. E agora o extra-desenvolvimento trazido pela tecnologia ameaça mais vidas à medida que sucumbe à força de tremores e do mar.

A pergunta que fica, é qual será a lição aprendida pela humanidade? Será apenas um tempo difícil a ser superado e insistiremos nos nossos erros? Exacerbaremos nossa busca tecnológica com algum fim mais nobre ou abraçaremos uma possibilidade de regredir um pouco o desenvolvimento e concentrarmos mais nas coisas mais básicas da vida?

A única certeza que fica é que em 2011, o mundo parou um pouco seu ritmo frenético (como no centro de Tókio) e viu sua fragilidade perante o seu desenvolvimento e a força da natureza.

E o apelo é o mesmo. Ajude o Japão da maneira que puder. Consuma mais produtos fabricados por eles, prestigie a cultura japonesa. E caso possa – em um futuro próximo – vá até o Japão ajudar a reconstruir.
